Acrylic mass floors are plastic binder-based floors where the binder is acrylic resin dissolved in methyl methacrylate monomer. Pigmented quartz sand is used as the base material. The acrylic mass creates a seamless and uniform floor surface structure, the surface roughness of which can be adjusted by the granularity of the base material.

Properties of Acrylic Mass Flooring

• Waterproof: Acrylic mass flooring is vapor impermeable. The seams from expansion and repair works weld into a homogeneous mass, making the entire surface waterproof, including at the seams.
• Chemical resistance: Acrylic mass flooring withstands acids, alkalis, oils, and lubricants.
• Surface roughness: Normally, acrylic mass flooring is made with a semi-rough surface, which is safe. If necessary, the acrylic mass floor surface can be varnished to improve cleanability. The varnish can also be textured.
• Compressive strength: The compressive strength of the acrylic mass is greater than that of the substrate concrete. Therefore, the compressive strength is sufficient for the coating.
• Wear resistance: The flexibility of the acrylic binder in the acrylic mass flooring, combined with the strength of the quartz in the mass, gives the floor good wear resistance properties. The floor is also completely dust-free.
• Weather resistance: Acrylic mass flooring withstands weather and temperature variations as well as UV rays without becoming brittle.
• Sound insulation ability: Acrylic mass flooring dampens noise, such as that caused by metal wheels. In addition, the floor withstands impacts well.
